Abilities
Festergut:
Gaseous Blight (Shadow) – Room wide Shadow Damage every 2 seconds. Damage reduced in half whenever Festergut Inhales Blight.
Inhaled Blight (Buff) – Inhaling Blight, reducing the Blight amount in the room. Increases Festergut’s damage dealt and attack speed by 30% each inhale. After 3 times he will release the Blight again. Happens every 32-34 seconds.
Pungent Blight (Shadow) – Releases the Blight back into the room, dealing massive Shadow Damage to the raid.
Gastric Bloat (Nature & Buff) – Hurts the main tank and increases his damage done by 10%. After 10 stacks the main tank will explode.
Gastric Explosion (Nature) – Exploding, dealing massive Nature Damage to allies close and instantly killing the caster (usually tank).
Vile Gas (Nature) – Inflicts Nature Damage to raiders in a targeted area. Also causes the raiders to vomit uncontrollably, inflicting additional damage to allies nearby.
Gas Spore (Physical) – Places a Spore on random raiders which will explode after 12 seconds, dealing Physical Damage to everyone close. Also builds up resistance to the Blight for everyone affected.
Gas Spore:
Blighted Spores (Shadow) – Applied to everyone near when the Spore explodes.
Inoculated (Buff) – If you are affected by a Spore Explosion, you become resistant to the Blight and take 25% less Shadow Damage. Stacks up to 3 times.
Class requirements
2 tanks to switch on Festergut due to Gastric Bloat and hard hitting dps.
The pull
Pull will be done by the main tank charging in on Festergut.
Positions and strategy
Festergut will be tanked in the middle of the room, giving everyone space to spread out. The range dps and healers will spread out into two teams, each team staying on opposite sides of the room. The team itself will spread out again on those sides to make sure as few as possible people are affected by Vile Gas.
The tank healers will stick with the melee dps so they don’t have to worry about Vile Gas as Festergut favours casting it at players away from him (as long as there are enough alive).
Festergut will put his Gastric Bloat debuff on the main tank, so tanks need to switch at 8/9 stacks to not instantly die. Be aware that Gastric Bloat increases your damage by 10% each stack, so don’t pull threat off after the tanks have switched! If you happen to lose a tank, Paladins can remove their debuff with Divine Intervention.
Due to Gaseous Blight everyone in the room will take Shadow Damage every 2 seconds, healers will be stressed with raid healing at the start. Whenever Festergut inhales some of the Blight, the damage on the raid will decrease up to the point that there won’t be any raid damage at all when he has inhaled 3 times (all the Blight). With every inhale his damage and attack speed increase by 30% so after 2 inhales the damage on the tank will be tremendously higher, but raid damage will be lower.
At 3 inhales the tanks and healers should combine their damage mitigation abilities to reduce the incoming damage until Festergut has exhaled all the Blight again, reducing his damage. You will only get 2 exhales before Festergut reaches his Enrage limit, so you should be able to cover the time with your abilities pretty well.
Spores:
As Festergut’s Pungent Blight will one-shot everyone in the raid due to the massive damage you will need to utilize the Spores that he casts on the raid during the encounter. At every Blight Inhale he will summon 3 Spores on random players in the raid. When these Spores explode they will put Inoculated on every player hit by the explosion, reducing their Shadow Damage taken by 25%. If you don’t get hit 3 times with these explosions you will most likely die on Festergut’s Pungent Blight.
Because we have split the raid into 3 teams we will make sure every Spore gets to one team to apply Inoculated on every player. For this to work out we will put raid icons on player non-combat pets in both range teams and define which Spore runs to which sign before the fight. One Spore will always stay under Festergut to apply the buff on the tanks and melee dps/tank healers.
This fight is a very tight dps race, so you need to make sure noone dies during the encounter. Everyone needs to be affected by Inoculated 3 times!
10 Player Difficulty
Festergut will only summon 2 Spores.
