After the big bad beetle it’s a woman with a taste for men.. or rather a cult. Of men. Willing to sacrifice themselves to her ladyship. But this black widow won’t seduce us! Not us! Not after we had to deal with spiders.
Abilities
Poison Bolt Volley (Nature) – Spits poison on the raid that will hurt for several seconds. Try to cure it quickly.
Rain of Fire (Fire) – He Your usual Warlock spell. Thanks to the recent patch you can even see the area it affects on the ground. So there’s no reason for you to get caught standing inside it. NONE!
Frenzy (Buff) – Physical damage dealt is increased by 150%. Attack speed increased by 50%.
Class requirements
You need 2 tanks and at least one priest. No further requirements.
The pull
The pull will be done by the MT who will then move Grand Widow Faerlina away from her adds while the OT tries to taunt as many adds as seen fit. This varries on the amount of CC you have available for the adds.
Positions and strategy
This fight is pretty straight forward. The MT tanks the boss at a position he sees fit and the raid will damage her while running out of the Rain of Fire area. Also, your healers will make sure to cure the Poison Bolt Volley to reduce raid damage.
The OT will take care of the adds that ain’t CC and make sure none of them will run off into the raid and do unnecessary damage. Now comes a little thing that makes this fight interesting. At about one minute into the fight, she will buff herself with Frenzy and thus increase her damage output considerably.
To dispell this effect, a priest has to mindcontrol a Naxxramas Worshipper (there are 4) add and use the first ability the add has available – Widow’s Embrace. This spell will kill the add and dispell the effect.
Make sure you don’t mindcontrol the Naxxramas Follower. They can’t dispell Frenzy and are generally useless.
You rince and repeat this for every Frenzy the boss gets. Usually she’s dead after one Frenzy.
Normal Difficulty
In normal difficulty you only fight 4 adds and you don’t need to mindcontrol them, it suffices to just kill them near the boss. This means the OT will need to damage the adds a bit so they get killed more quickly.
