Abilities
Anub’arak:
Penetrating Cold (Frost & Debuff) – Inflicts Frost Damage on multiple targets over 18 seconds.
Freezing Slash (Froststrike & Debuff) – Inflicts Froststrike Damage on the tank and stuns him for 3 seconds!
Leeching Swarm (Debuff) – Leeches a percentage of the players current health and transfers it to Anub’arak. The more health the player has the more health Anub’arak receives. Will be used in Phase 2.
Frost Sphere:
Permafrost (Debuff) – Dropped by a Frost Sphere when killed. Reduces movement speed by 30%. Stops Nerubian Burrowers from burrowing (heh) and stop Anub’arak when he’s following a player while being submerged.
Nerubian Burrowers:
Spider Frenzy (Buff) – For each Nerubian Burrower close by their movement, attack and casting speed increases by 100%.
Expose Weakness (Debuff) – Increases the tanks damage taken by 25% for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 9 times.
Swarm Scarab:
Acid-Drenched Mandibles (Debuff) – Everyone hit will take Nature damage every 3 seconds for one minute. Stacks up to 40 times. Should be killed before they reach a player.
Class requirements
One main tank and 2 off-tanks for the Burrowers.
The pull
The fight starts with the main tank running in on Anub’arak.
Positions and strategy
One player capable of range dps needs to shoot down the Frost Spheres to allow the off-tanks to tank the Nerubian Burrowers on the Permafrost patches so they can’t submerge. 4 Burrowers will spawn while Anub’arak is attackable, 2 at a time.
The first 2 Burrowers will be killed off by the raid then everyone will focus on Anub’arak. The next 2 Burrowers will be tanked by the off-tanks until Anub’arak submerges and then get killed.
As soon as Anub’arak submerges, he will pick a player from the raid and follow him. If he manages to reach the player, he will die. To stop Anub’arak from following, the player needs to fool Anub’arak into hitting a Permafrost field. Doing so will make the Permafrost field vanish and Anub’arak picks a new target.
Also, during this phase multiple Swarm Scarabs will appear which need to be killed as fast as possible by everyone being near one. As their attacks will place a dot on players, too many dots and you may wipe.
Rince and repeat this tactic till Anub’arak is at 30% health. Then the Nerubian Burrowers will stop spawning and Anub’arak casts his Leeching Swarm to heal himself. Healers should try to keep everyone in the raid at around 30-50% health so Anub’arak doesn’t heal for more than you can deal damage.
Use whatever you can to boost your dps in this phase.
10 Player Difficulty
Only one Nerubian Burrower spawns at a time.
