Abilities
Guardian Swarm (Physical) – Marks a target to be attacked by a Guardian Swarm.
Terrifying Screech (Debuff) – Fears the whole raid. Casts Sentinel Blast after.
Sentinel Blast (Shadow) – A massive blast that hits everyone for Shadow Damage and increases your shadow damage taken by 100%. Channeled and stacks.
Sonic Screech (Physical) – Massive Damage in a cone in front of the boss. The damage is split between everyone affected.
Auriaya is guarded by 4 kitties at the start:
Rip Flesh (Physical) – A dot that deals damage every 2 seconds, stacks 100 times.
Savage Pounce (Physical) – Jumps on the person with threat if it’s more than 8 yards away, dealing lots of damage.
Strength of the Pack (Buff) – If the kitties are close to each other, they gain 50% damage increase for each kitty close.
A Feral Defender will spawn in the fight:
Feral Rush (Physical) – Rushs at raid members, dealing damage and interupting their spell casting for 6 seconds.
Feral Pounce (Physical) – Jumps at raid members, stunning them and dealing Shadow Damage over time.
Feral Essence (Buff) – The Feral Defender can revive itself for one stack of this buff, he also gains 50% damage increase for each stack. He starts off with 8 stacks.
Seeping Feral Essence (Shadow) – Leaves a black area after death which won’t despawn during the encounter.
Class requirements
Going with 4 tanks feels easiest as you can split all 4 kitties and have none with the buff.
The pull
The pull is the most difficult of this encounter as the tank going in can get pounced down by the incoming kitties if not being cautious. What worked best so far is to stand at the top of the stairs where Auriaya patrols and just go slightly down when she turns around. You will be in range to use a taunt on one kitty and after that you just move back up so that you ain’t in line of sight for the other kitties. This gives the other tanks enough time to taunt the kitties of you when they come in range.
Positions and strategy
The other tanks will spread out on the circle, staying in taunt range of the first tank. Once the kitties have been spread out, you will start off by killing the kitty of the MT as well as the OT that will pick up the Feral Defender later. The other OTs will then stay on the boss and try to interrupt his casting of Sentinel Blast.
Whenever Auriaya is casting her Fear, all warriors tanks should use Berserker Rage to be able to stay at the boss and immediatly interrupt her casting of Sentinel Blast, which will come right after the Fear.
The healers need to be aware of Guardian Swarm target. The Swarm needs to be aoe’ed down as soon as it spawns.
Also the melee dps will need to either stand in front of the boss, or move in front of the boss when she starts casting Sonic Screech. The damage of that spell needs to be shared with the whole raid, so your MT doesn’t get one-shot.
The Feral Defender will be killed at least 3 times to lower his damage from 400% to 250%. Then the raid will leave the circle and move over to the other one, where there are no black pods of Feral Essence. The Defender will then just be off-tanked while the raid takes out Auriaya.
Normal Difficulty
Auriaya has only 2 kitties at the start.
