Class requirements
There are no requirements, the vehicles offer enough space for your whole raid.
The pull
Flame Leviathan will engage you once you defeat the last enemies guarding the gate to the inner area of Ulduar. So don’t engage them if your raid is not ready.
Positions and strategy
Granted, this looks like lots of stuff to read and understand, but the fight is actually pretty simple. Once you’ve played around with your vehicle for a bit, you’ll get to understand the mechanics and will. be. unstoppable.
During the first part of this encounter, you’re going to crash through an army of iron dwarves. Destroy the towers they are coming out to thin out their numbers. Watch the big guys as they do quite a bit of damage and don’t let your guard down if aerial forces are incoming.
There will be 4 specially named towers in this area: Tower of Life, Earth, Fire and Storm. These need to be destroyed as well unless you want the fight to be a bit more spicy. Flame Leviathan will gain more powers for each Tower left standing.
The Fight:
After Flame Leviathan has engaged you, it will be following one of your raid members. We DO NOT want it to reach them, so the Salvaged Choppers need to rush in front of the boss and slow him down with tar fields. This tactic won’t change during the whole encounter.
You’ll notice quickly that Flame Leviathan gains speed buffs eventually giving him 100% speed. To stop those the demolisher need to throw their passengers onto the Flame Leviathan so that they can take out the turrets. Once all 4 turrets have been destroyed the boss will be stunned for 20 seconds and take more damage from your attacks.
During that time, all demolisher should use their pyrite ability to deal a large chunk of damage on the Flame Leviathan. Also the chopper need to rush in and take up the brave people that fought the turrets. They are needed in their demolishers again because you’ll have to destroy the turrets at least twice.
Normal Difficulty
Flame Leviathan only has 2 turrets.
