Abilities

Biting Cold (Frost) – Deals periodic Frost Damage to stationary targets, can be dispelled by moving.
Freeze (Frost) – A raid wide frost nova effect. Can be dispelled.
Frozen Blows (Frost) – Deals periodic Frost Damage to the whole raid as well as huge Frost Damage to the MT with every connecting attack.
Flash Freeze (Debuff) – If you are hit, you are being stunned in a block of ice for 5 minutes. Can be evaded by moving into Snowdrift.
Ice Shards (Frost) – If you stay in a blue circle, you get hit by Ice Shards after some seconds dealing Frost Damage.

Eivi & Ellie Nightfeather:

Wrath (Nature) – Deals Nature Damage to Hodir.
Starlight (Buff) – Increases your attack and casting speed by 100% if standing inside.

Elementalist Avuun & Mahfuun:

Lava Burst (Fire) – Deals Fire Damage to Hodir.
Storm Cloud (Buff) – Summons a Storm Cloud around a raider. The next 6 raiders touching this person will gain a 135% critical strike damage increase.

Field Medic Jessi & Penny:

Smite (Holy) – Deals Holy Damage to Hodir.
Greater Heal (Heal) – Heals all friendly NPCs at the same time.
Dispel Magic (Utility) – Removes one magic debuff from NPCs and raiders. Usually Freeze.

Missy & Sissy Flamecuffs:

Fireball (Fire) – Deals Fire Damage to Hodir.
Melt Ice (Buff) – Attempts to melt Flash Freeze over 10 seconds.
Conjure Toasty Fire (Utility) – Conjures a Toasty Fire applying the following buff when standing next to it:
Toasty Fire (Buff) – Makes you immune to Freeze and Biting Cold. You apply the following dot on Hodir if you hit him:
Singed (Debuff) – Increases magic damage taken by 2%, stacks up to 30 times.

Class requirements

You require one tank with Frost Resistance gear for Hodir.

The pull

The MT will run in on Hodir while the raid will free the frozen mages.

Positions and strategy

The mages will be marked with a unique raid icon for this fight as they are able to free everyone from a Flash Freeze and thus safe you time doing it.

It’s important for the raid to always get rid of the Biting Cold debuff, either by moving (or jumping) or by standing next to a Toasty Fire. Also everyone in the raid should try to gain as many buffs from the NPCs as possible. This includes the tank as he will have to fight for threat if everyone in the raid is buffed and dealing immensivly more damage.

While you free the mages and gain the buffs, you will have to evade all small blue circles on the ground as you will be hit with falling ice if you stand in it long enough.

Once Hodir starts casting Flash Freeze, everyone in the raid will move to the borders of the 2 huge blue circles that will appear on the ground. As soon as the snow has fallen from the ceiling, they move into the snowdrift left in those circles. This will make you unaffected by the Flash Freeze. You will need to free the NPCs after a Flash Freeze as they were most likely not standing inside a snowdrift.

Healers need to be aware when Hodir cast Frozen Blows as then the raid will take additional Frost Damage and the tank will take large hits, that need to be healed quickly.

Normal Difficulty

You will only have one of each NPC type.
