Anub'Rekhan
We didn't know.. we just decided upon one quarter and see what we got into? Spiders. Why'd it have to be spiders!? And soon after our first boss, fortunatly not a spider. Or strong.
Abilities
Impale (Physical) - Spikes will reach out of the floor and send everyone standing there flying. Also hurts for a good amount. Try to evade it.
Locust Swarm (Nature) - He will cast it every ~90 seconds buffing himself. While the buff is active, everyone in his near surrounding won't be able to attack and/or cast spells (even heals).
You will also encounter Crypt Guards in the fight, their abilities are as follows:
Acid Spit - Will spit on the tank, does nature damage. Can stack as well.
Cleave (Physical) - Your standard cleave, stay away or behind.
Class requirements
At least 3 tanks required. Else there ain't any special requirements, your standard raid will cover all roles needed.
The pull
The pull will be done by the MT who will then move Anub'Rekhan to the east side near the north point the smile pool starts.
Positions and strategy
Once the MT is in position you will begin damaging the boss. At some point into the fight Crypt Guards will spawn at the northern side, one at a time. These will be picked up by the OTs and pulled to the western side of the room. There they will be killed by the raid ASAP.
Now there's a little twist in the fight. During the fight, Corpse Scarabs will spawn from the corpses of Crypt Guards (the corpse will despawn afterwards). Those have to be picked up by a free OT or by other classes that are able to hold them in place or aggro them without dying. Those buggs have to be killed or they will eat your healers and you want to keep them.
After 90 seconds into the fight, Anub'Rekhan will buff himself with Locust Swarm. As soon as he starts casting this spell, the MT will leave the boss alone and run south along the outer slime pool. You want to make sure there's enough distance between you and the boss so you ain't afflicted by the silence effect. The buff's usually gone after the boss has reached the southern end of the slime pool. Once the buff is gone, the raid can continue to damage the boss.
If you happen to get a second Locust Swarm at the southern end of the slime pools, you kite the boss north again following the same route you've taken before.
So, there are only 2 important things to focus on in this fight:
Protect the raid from the Crypt Guards and Corpse Scarabs and stay away from the boss when he's in his Locust Swarm state.
Manage those 2 and this boss will die!
Normal Difficulty
In normal difficulty the boss won't start the fight with 2 adds.
