Class requirements

At least two tanks for the first phase and third phase of the encounter. Three works best. At least 6 healer as well, as a lot of damage occurs during the encounter.

The pull

Will be done by the MT running to the Leviathan Mk II.

Positions and strategy

Phase 1:

The healers and range dps will spread into 3 even groups around the Leviathan Mk II to minimise the damage done by Napalm Shell and to prepare themselves for Phase 2.

Tanks and melee dps attack the Leviathan Mk II, keeping in mind the mines he spawns around him. Whenever he spawned mines, look for a hole you can run through the next time he casts his Shock Blast so you don't take unnecessary damage.

The tanks need to watch out for the Plasma Blast and use damage mitigation abilities whenever he uses the spell to reduce the incoming damage. Hand of Sacrifice or Pain Suppression work as well. Once a tank has used his ability another tank will take over and tank him until he had to use his ability as well. Then a third tank takes over.

You should only need about 3 cycles if your dps has a good day. If you need longer than that, improvise and use other classes abilites to mitigate damage - i.e. Pain Suppression.

Healers will look out for the target that gains Napalm Shell as he'll drop quickly if not healed shortly after the impact.

Phase 2:

VX-001 will be stationary in the middle of the room and can't be tanked. As such, DPS can go all out.

The groups in the room need to make sure they spread evenly on their side to decrease the damage of Rapid Burst on each group. Paladins should also activate their Fire Resistance Aura to help mitigate some damage.

When VX-001 starts casting his Laser Barrage, you need to be aware of the position he points at. He'll move slightly clockwise after he has finished casting and then rotate clockwise for about 120°. If you get caught by the Laser Barrage, you are toast if not invulnerable.

Also range dps and healers need to be aware of the rockets, if you get caught by one, you are dead on the spot.

Phase 3:

The Aerial Command Unit needs to be tanked by one range dps person, usually a hunter or a warlock. The range tank needs to move with the boss a bit to the side so that he's not floating over the midle area.

In an orange beam an assault bot appears that need to be killed as fast as possible as those drop the Magnetic Cores that allow the boss to be pulled down. At this point the raid should have the loot set to Free For All. Note that the killed bots don't despawn immediatly, so you can leave some on the ground and loot the cores once 2-3 have been killed. This allows you to use all the cores in a row.

The other tank will pick up the Junk Bots spawning from the green beams. These will be taken out together once the Aerial Command Unit has been damaged down to 1%.

When the Aerial Command Unit gets pulled down, everyone need to focus their fire and try to damage as much as possible. Be aware though, that once the unit starts flying again, it will drop a Bomb Bot that should be taunted off by a free tank less it explodes on the melee dps. It will drop those Bots during the encounter as well and you should taunt them when needed.

Phase 4:

Now that all units have been combined, you need to deal with all their abilities. So melee dps and tanks need to look out for the mines and Shock Blast, range dps and healers for the rockets while the whole raid looks out for the Laser Barrage.

Please note that all units need to die at the same time, so the best tactic is for range dps to start on the head and for melee dps to start on the bottom. Once the parts are down to 10%, you switch to the middle and take it down to 10% as well.
After that point, you can either use AoE dps to take down all 3 parts at the same time or single target dps, but you need to be quick. The threshold is 15 seconds. If you fail, you need to start at 50% again.

Normal Difficulty

No difference in the tactic.
