Rage Winterchill
Now, here we are. Standing in the human camp next to the marvelous Lady Jaina Proudmore. Armed to the teeth. Ready to kick undead ass. One last drink and off we go... onwards to glory!
The first boss is the undead lich Rage Winterchill who uses various frost skills (fitting, huh?) as well as the deadly Death & Decay.
Abilities
Frost Armor - Armor increased by 3000. Slowing melee attackers' movement and attacks. This ability has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
Frost Nova (Frost) - Hits everyone around him, freezing them to do ground and dealing 2.8k damage.
Icebolt (Frost) - Single target spell. Englufs you in an iceblock, hence stunning you. Dealing an initial damage of 4.8k damage with an additional 2.4k damage each second for 4 seconds. If not healed, may kill the person.
Death & Decay (Shadow) - AoE ground effect, dealing 1.8k damage each second to anyone in the area. Can be spotted by little red bubbles coming from the ground.
Class requirements
There are no special requirements needed for this fight. You may need at least one paladin tank for the initial trash pulls.
The pull
Pulling this boss will be indirectly done by fighting the initial trash waves. You have to defeat 8 trash waves, once you killed the last wave, the boss will automatically engage after 10 seconds. Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT talk with Jaina if you arn't the raid leader or if you arn't asked to do it!
The trash waves will feature the following enemies:
- Ghoul
- Abomination
- Crypt Fiends
- Banshee
- Shadowy Necromancer
In waves with Necromancers, melee will have to get those down as quickly as possible, so they don't animate corpses. The same applies to Banshees as those are immune to magic. The rest will be tanked on one spot and killed by AoE's.
Positions and strategy
Rage Winterchill will be placed in the small leveled area below the camp entrace, between the blacksmith's shop and the houses to the right as shown on the map.

Range DPS and healers will stay away from the boss to not get caught in the Frost Nova. Once a person is targeted with Icebolt - you can spot him by the iceblock s/he's in - focus healing on this person, as he takes an overall damage of nearly 15k.
Once the boss is channeling Death & Decay, you immeditely check the ground below you. If you happen to be standing in it, you leg it! In rare cases (low health, few healers alive) this also applies to the tank. Once the boss has stop channeling, you can immediately run back in, Death & Decay has already vanished at that time.
Watch Icebolt, Frost Nova and Death & Decay and this fight is cake.
